Now the slaves and the officers were standing {there,} having made a charcoal fire, for it was cold and they were warming themselves; and Peter was also with them, standing and warming himself.
And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and put a purple robe on Him;
Pilate came out again and *said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you so that you may know that I find no guilt in Him.”
Jesus then came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. {Pilate} *said to them, “Behold, the Man!”
Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover; it was about the sixth hour. And he *said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His outer garments and made four parts, a part to every soldier and {also} the tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece.
Therefore the soldiers did these things. But standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the {wife} of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He *said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”
Then He *said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own {household.}
So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him;
But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
+“Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to {go.}”
And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.
“Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
‘AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS/,’ God says, ‘THAT/ I WILL POUR FORTH OF/ MY/ SPIRIT ON ALL/ MANKIND/; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY/, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS/, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS/;
But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene--walk!”
for the man was more than forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed.
And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and {began} to speak the word of God with boldness.
and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property,
